Know yourself: the Bazi is the blueprint of your life!

Ba Zi means eight characters. You are born under a time, day, month and year – those are the four pillars of your chart, each made of two characters, a stem and a branch. Your Bazi is your blueprint in life. It shows your potential, your strengths, and weaknesses. It shows your compatibility for a career, if marriage is in your destiny, your wealth potential, or the health ailment you are likely to develop.

Moreover it shows which type of Chi you can or cannot take. The Bazi shows an accurate picture of who you are and defines you through the Elements. That means you can be a Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal or Water person. Besides you can be weak or strong Metal, Water, Wood, Fire or Earth – those terms only refer to the strength of the Element in your chart, not to your psychological state. There are also special cases such as Follow The leader, Follow the wealth, Follow the son, Ultra vibrant charts, but let’s focus on the more common example here.

Depending of which Element defines you, the other four Elements will represent different aspects of your life: family, relationship, your boss, wealth, etc.

So what if I am a strong Water person for example?

If you are a strong Water person you will find balance by using the Wood and Fire Elements more. Why? Because Wood is the output of Water – the Element Water produces- and Fire is the Element Water can control. So by using those two Elements you will actually balance your chart, make the Chi flow, and improve your whole life.

Metal that is producing Water, and Water itself your similar Element, are best not to be used as they put your chart under more stress and unbalance: your Bazi “overflows” when under the influence of those Elements.

Earth is blocking Water so is not a first choice for you either.

What does it means? I should not drink Water for example?

Well, if you were hoping to have an excuse to drink more booze, sorry to disappoint but this is not the way to use your Bazi. The fact that you better not “use” the Water Element relates to your environment and the actions you can take. So for example living nearby the water, or using water features to enhance your wealth, will not bring you any good. It would actually be a sure way to deplete you from your wealth!

The Water Element also relates to working in hospitality for example – so this is not advisable for you as a career. Water is also movement, travelling: therefore you better don’t travel extensively for work.

The Water Element also relates to specific colours: blue, black, and numbers: 1, 6. Those are best to be used sparingly in your life (in decoration, flat number etc.) This is life guidance really – it is all about knowing yourself and doing the right thing for you. It is a little bit like knowing which diet work best for your body type – vegetarian, Weston A. Price, Paleo diet?

So the Bazi set your whole life once for all?

The Bazi defines your playground. If your fate has not the potential to become the next Bill Gates, Lord Sugar, Madonna or Victoria Beckham, then all the Feng Shui in the world is unlikely to change it. However inside those boundaries you still have your free will and can achieve a lot as few people are using their full potential.

Besides the Bazi contains more than a static chart; there is also an interactive part in it. A Bazi carries the concept of Luck Pillars, which are blocks of 10 years. The Luck Pillars are determined by a calculation based on the month of your birth. They can “start” from any age: for example the first Pillar might go from 3 to 13; or 2 to 12; or 5 to 15 and then 15 to 25, 25 to 35 etc.

Each Luck Pillar is also composed of a Stem and a Branch, therefore of two Elements. Those two Elements can be working together or against each other, creating a certain dynamic and flow of Chi.

Your Bazi interacts with your current luck pillar, and also with the current year – explaining how your life can become better or more complicated once you have passed your birthday or entered a new year. The affinity or dislike of your Bazi for the Elements in your current luck pillar explains your “luck”. By seeing in what type of luck you will go through, you can foresee more accurately your life and make the right decision at the right time.

Last but not least, your Bazi interacts with your living place and its Feng Shui. As a Feng Shui expert I always analyze your Bazi for every Feng Shui consultation – and the Bazi report is included in my services.
