Taoism and Feng Shui: a deep bound.
Taoism, or Daoism, is not Feng Shui. However they have developed in parallel, come from the same culture and it is fair to say that there are many connections in both systems.
Kanyu techniques, the former name of Feng Shui, can be seen as a step on the way of the Tao/Dao. For example the cult of the ancestors in Taoism is echoed by the practice of Yin Feng Shui, that deals with the influence of the ancestors remains on the life of the descendants. Moreover such concepts are the Bagua, Yin and Yang, the Qi or the Three Lucks are both common to Taoism and Feng Shui.
While Feng Shui can be used without spiritual beliefs and without connection to Taoism, it is nevertheless interesting to try to replace it into the Taoist concept of the Three Lucks that are Heaven luck, Human luck and Earth luck. .
In all my Feng Shui consultations I include a Bazi report that give you spiritual advice on how to improve your life, as well as a traditional Taoist herbal kit to cleanse the Chi of your place. This is a way for me to pay respect to the Taoist tradition that has helped to shape up classical Feng Shui.
