How to calculate my personal Gua?

Here is the method to find your personal Gua. Please bear in mind the following facts:

• The personal Gua is only a superficial layer of information. An audit cannot be based on personal Gua only

• If you do not know your Bazi, do not take action based on your personal Gua alone. You could end up sleeping in a sector that clashes with your chart

• Like all science or meta-science, proper Feng Shui is not achieved through the DIY approach. The information given here are for knowledge only – if you need a proper Feng Shui consultation please make an appointment with an expert before making any changes

Yes, ok, I get it. Now please tell me how to calculate my Gua!

Ok then! Here we are:

• Take the last 2 digits of your year of birth

• Reduce them to a single number by adding them

• So for example if you are born in 1975, you end up with 7+5 = 12 = 3 If the year of birth is before 2000

• For a male: 10 – the number = Gua

• For a female: 5 + number = Gua

• So for a man born in 1975: 10-3 = 7

• For a woman born in 1975: 5 + 3 = 8 After 2000

• For a male: 9 – the number = Gua

• For a female: 6 + number = Gua

 

If you end up with the number 5 for your personal Gua:

• Convert it to number 2 for a male

• Convert it to number 8 for a female

• Example: a woman born in 1972. The Gua calculation is: 5 + (7+2) =14 =5. Convert to 8.

Actually in proper San Yuan Feng Shui, once you get the Gua number, you convert it further. The numbers are based on the later heaven Bagua which is a mistake; they should be converted to the number used with the Early Heaven Luo Shu. However this is only a numbering problem, and as the Gua remain the same, I mention it for your knowledge only.
