Free Feng Shui consultation and distant Feng Shui

Do you offer distant Feng Shui consultations?

I’ve got to admit that life has been an eye opener and that I have changed my policy on the matter a bit.

Previously I was adamant that I could not offer a consultation at a distance. Feng Shui is all about location and the type of Chi a place receives and how it influences you. Evaluating such factors like your surroundings and the nature of the Chi affecting your premises without going there, taking measurements and experiencing it is tricky.

In old time a Feng Shui master and his disciples would walk for days just to identify to shape of a mountain, and find the the “Dragon’s veins”. Feng Shui has always been about understanding the surroundings and the influence of the external environment first and foremost; to do so best is to be on location.

However life is sometimes more complicated. The case that for me was a real eye-opener was a client located in the US. She desperately needed my help with great urgency: she was relocating herself in less than a month and the contractors were already at work on her new house. She could not have afforded to do the work twice – changing water fixtures, moving the stove or relocating bedroom etc. She needed answers but couldn’t afford to fly me over to Nashville from London either – the extra cost was just too much for her to pay.

Luckily she has some Feng Shui awareness and knew how to take measurements. So under my supervision she was able to provide me with a facing direction, the exact blueprint of the house and tons of pictures of the surroundings. With all this information we were able to do the consultation and it was a success.

This does not mean I want to make a habit of it. Feng Shui also deals with karma – your karma and mine for helping you; I prefer not to take any chance. And the best way not to take chances is to go on location and check it by myself; this is what I have been trained to do after all.

However under some circumstances where urgency and cost of the flight are in the way I’ll consider doing a distant consultation. My point is that I better offer the best possible service I can – and help people benefiting from the techniques I have learned from a real Feng Shui master– rather than letting people down with having no Feng Shui consultation or worst hiring a poorly trained local consultant.

Date selection and BaZi consultations can be done at a distance as they usually do not relate to a place.

A word of caution however: doing an occasional distant Feng Shui consultation is in no way an endorsement for Feng Shui softwares and the DIY approach. This is really a recipe for disaster. A Feng Shui software cannot analyzes your Bazi, your surroundings, the intricacy of your life case scenario. Selling such product is not helping people and usually endorses a lot of (un) necessary “cures” that need to be bought from the same company. It is a bit like selling a “medicine” software that tells you what is your illness and what prescription you should buy. I still prefer to see the doctor!

Do you offer free fengshui consultation?

I do not, and for several reasons.

First, I think it is disrespecting this great body of knowledge not to put a value on it.

Second, I have seen numerous time that people will provide the changes in their life if they pay for a service, and won’t if they do not pay. It is a little bit like a shrink consultation, when you are paying for it shows your dedication.

Thrid, considering the years and money I have put in learning traditional Feng Shui. I would not respect myself by doing so.

Money is a form of energy. There is a golden money rule: let it flow if you want to gain more of it!
