The bathroom location in Feng Shui
Are there any tips for a Feng Shui bathroom?
Like with the bedroom, a bathroom will fit a good Feng Shui setup as part of the house, but is not “good” individually.
However with bathrooms we are talking about concepts like the internal Water exits and this is a very important in traditional Feng Shui. Basically a Water exit in the right or wrong location for the house setup can “make” or “brake “ the Feng Shui of the place. Likewise for a business, it can spoil the whole income of the business.
There are many rules concerning the bathroom; here are a few:
• It should not be located on one of your good sectors
• It should not spoil your supportive Elements
• It should not face the main entrance, or a staircase
• It should not be in a Fire and Water clash configuration with the kitchen
• It should be on the right internal Water exit for the house setup
• It should not spoil the Qian (Northwest) area…
This is REALLY a matter of a specialist, and different from house to house. It will not have the same impact on your depending of your chart.
I thought having a bathroom in East and Southeast was good to support the Wood Element? And having a bathroom in the North is good for the Water Element?
Ah! This is kindergarten Feng Shui, a belief that derivates from the Ba Zhai (8 mansions) school of Feng Shui. I’d like to remind you I don’t use Ba Zhai; as this school does not account for the personal chart (Bazi) it stays on the surface of things.
However, if you want to explore such logic, this advice does not account for:
• your house facing
• the Chi setup of the house
• the Element your need,
• the good and bad sector of this home etc.
Think about your personal chart. If you are a weak Earth person, the last thing you want to do is to enhance the Wood that depletes you. If you are a weak Fire, you do not want strong Water to clash with your chart.
Last but not least, bathroom and toilet, even if they are full of Water, do not enhance anything as we are dealing here with “spoiled” Water. It is therefore much better to locate them in areas that you don’t “need” energetically.
